Manager, Distribution Operations
Edison Electric Institute, one of the nation’s premier trade associations, has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Distribution Operations. The Manager will assist the EEI team and our member companies with reliability and service outage-recovery activities. The Manager will also support FERC and NERC activities related to reliability, manage EEI’s distribution and metering committees, and provide general technical support in the areas of utility operations, reliability, distribution, metering, and mutual assistance. During any type of wide-spread outage, tasks will include responding to technical issues related to the industry’s mutual-assistance program and supervising outside contractors. The job requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering; a master’s degree in a related area is a plus. The successful candidate will have at least five years of applicable experience in the electric-utility industry with some knowledge of NERC and FERC processes. Direct or indirect utility-operational experience is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Media Relations Representative
Edison Electric Institute, one of the nation’s premier trade associations, has an outstanding opportunity for a Media Relations Representative. The Media Relations Representative will provide daily support for EEI’s news products and monitor industry-related developments. Other responsibilities include handling routine media inquiries, researching industry and media issues, approving Web-site content, responding to member questions, providing meeting support, and assisting with budgeting. The job requires a bachelor’s degree and at least one year of applicable experience in the communications, public relations, or journalism field, or press-related experience on Capitol Hill or in a trade association, PR agency, corporation, or government office. Energy experience is desired but not mandatory. The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills and a basic understanding of the public-policy process. Manager, Sustainable Technology
Edison Electric Institute, one of the nation’s premier trade associations, has an outstanding opportunity for a Manager, Sustainable Technology. The Manager will work with EEI’s members to develop and promote programs related to innovative electric technologies. The Manager will also engage the regulatory community and other groups on business opportunities, policy barriers, and operational challenges. Issues include grid modernization, distributed generation, energy storage, demand response, and energy efficiency. The technologies include plug-in electric vehicles, energy storage, smart appliances, combined heat and power, and demand-side management. A key part of this job will be to develop strategic networks with EEI’s member companies, consumer groups, vendors, and regulators. The job requires a bachelor’s degree, with an emphasis in engineering, business, economics, IT, political science, or another related area preferred. A Master’s degree is a plus. The successful candidate will have at least three years of related experience, including regulatory and utility experience. Outstanding communication, organizational, and strategic development skills are essential.
