  • Special Notice for the Conference – If you wish to attend the Tuesday Evening Event at the Grand Ole Opry, you MUST register by Friday, April 19, 2019 – The cut-off date is FIRM and set by the Opry – see the “Tuesday Evening Event” below for more information.
  • The 2019 EEI/AGA Spring Accounting Conference will be held at the Hilton Nashville Downtown Hotel on May 19-22, 2019.  This hotel is centrally located in downtown Nashville within easy walking distance to the County Music Hall of Fame, Ryman Auditorium, Honky Tonk Highway on lower Broadway and more. The room block rate for our conference is $259/night for a single or double occupancy (all rooms are suites). Rates are subject to applicable state and local taxes.  You can reserve a room for the conference under our room block using this link to the hotel’s website

    Room reservations can also be made directly with the hotel reservation department at (615) 620-1000 (Monday through Friday from 8am–5pm) or (800) HILTONS. To qualify for the special group rate, you will need to identify yourself as attending the Edison Electric Institute’s Spring Accounting Conference.

    The cut-off date for reserving rooms under the room block is Friday, April 26, 2019.  However, the cut-off for attending the Tuesday evening event at the Grand Ole Opry is Friday, April 19, 2019 – See Tuesday Evening Event below.
  • We have reached capacity for the Walkin' Nashville Tour so registration for this activity in no longer available.  Sorry if you wanted to attend but the tour operator limits the number of participants on the tour.

    If you arrive early in Nashville, please join us to recapture the magic of the golden era of Nashville on the Walkin’ Nashville Music City Legends Tour.  Packed with history, fun trivia, and behind-the-scenes anecdotes about your favorite country legends, this 2-hour walking tour is designed for music lovers who want to know the real story of how Nashville came to be called Music City.

    We will meet in the hotel lobby at 9:45 am and leave promptly at 10:00 am for a 15-minute walk to the meeting place (in front of the Chet Atkins statue at 5th & Union).  Our 2-hour group walking tour (approximately 1.25 miles) begins at 10:30 am.  The tour ends at Hatch Show Print which is about a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

    The tour will be limited to about 40 people and is first come first serve.  Once this tour is filled, it will no longer be available.

    The tour guide will wear a headset with mic and amp so there should be no trouble hearing the tour guide.

    Cost of this optional tour is $25 for adults and $12 for children 4-11.

  • Our Tuesday evening offsite event will be a memorable one!  We will be at the Grand Ole Opry for a pre-show dinner in the famed Studio A, the former home of Hee Haw and continues to be used to broadcast television shows today.  Following dinner, we will attend the show at the Grand Ole Opry which is a weekly country music stage concert and the longest running radio broadcast in the US.  Dedicated to honoring country music and its history, the Opry showcases a mix of famous signers and contemporary chart-toppers performing country music, bluegrass, Americana, folk, and gospel music as well as comedic performances and skits.  It attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world and millions of radio and internet listeners.

    We will meet in the hotel lobby (the exact location to be announced at the conference) by 4:15 pm.  The motor coaches will arrive at 4:15 pm and depart by 4:30 pm so please ensure you are at the meeting place on time.  We will arrive at the Grand Ole Opry by 5:00 pm.  Please proceed to Studio A upon arrival for beverages.  A buffet dinner will be served starting at 5:15 pm.  We will need to proceed to the theater to be seated by 6:45 pm.  The approximately 2-hour show begins at 7:00 pm.  Immediately following the show, we will return to the motor coaches.

    We must have a final count of folks attending the event at the Grand Ole Opry by Friday, April 19, 2019, to ensure that a ticket to the show is available for everyone that wants to attend.  The cut-off date is FIRM and set by the Opry.  I cannot assure anyone of having a ticket or sitting with our group if you do not register to attend the conference and the Tuesday evening event by Friday, April 19, 2019.

    The Tuesday evening offsite event is included in the registration fee for conference attendees and guests.

  • The Spring Accounting Conference is hosted by the EEI Accounting Standards, Corporate Accounting, Property Accounting & Valuation, and Budgeting & Financial Forecasting Committees and the AGA Accounting Services Committee.

    This meeting is open to any employee of an EEI or AGA member or associate member company.  The conference is not limited to committee members. Typical attendees of this conference include staff, middle, and upper accounting management involved in technical accounting, financial reporting, general accounting, property accounting, depreciation accounting, budgeting, and financial forecasting. This three-day joint EEI/AGA conference provides a forum for members to discuss current issues in the natural gas and electric utility industries and an opportunity for professional development. This meeting features joint committee presentations followed by breakout sessions for Accounting Standards, Corporate Accounting, Property Accounting, and Budgeting & Financial Forecasting.  Industry professionals and leaders in the field of utility accounting issues present individual elements. Attendees are encouraged to attend presentations of interest in different breakout sessions.

    The conference qualifies for CPE credits based on the sessions attended.

  • At the Conference, there will be Roundtable Discussions in the breakout sessions.  The Roundtable Discussions are open forums that allow Conference attendees to obtain valuable responses and input from your peers.  Please take advantage of this extremely beneficial opportunity as the Roundtable Discussions are always one of the highest rated sessions of the Conference.

     Closer to the conference dates, the forms to submit Roundtable Questions will be sent to you and also added to the Meeting Documents on this webpage.  At the bottom of each form, will be the name and email address of the person where the completed forms should be sent.  The Forms will also include the due date for submitting Roundtable Questions.

  • Registration is not open at this time.  EEI and AGA Accounting Committee Members will be notified when registration opens.  Also, you can check this website closer to the conference dates to see if registration is open.

    ($100 per person discount applies to five or more attendees from the same company - a refund will be issued after the meeting if you register on-line.  Alternatively, you can register using the Registration Form available under Meeting Documents and sending the form to EEI as instructed on the form.)     

    Guest Registration Fee, includes all meals (breakfast + lunch), receptions on Sunday and Monday, and the Tuesday Evening Event at Grand Ole Opry House - $85

    For your name and contact information to be included in the conference materials distributed to the conference attendees, you must register to attend the conference by May 3, 2019However, the cut-off for attending the Tuesday evening event at the Grand Ole Opry is Friday, April 19, 2019. The cut-off date is FIRM and set by the Opry – See Tuesday Evening Event above.

    Registration fees do not include the Sunday morning optional activity.

    Note: Members eligible for the group discount rate that register online will not receive the discount at registration at the time of registration. A single refund check reflecting the discounts will be issued to your company following the meeting.

    Registration fees will be refunded minus a $100 administration fee if notification of cancellation is received on or before May 3, 2019.
