Measuring Our Progress
To participate in EEI’s DEI initiative, member companies must commit to implement at least three recommended actions that support our industry goals. The industry goals are:
- Ensure that DEI efforts are driven from the top.
- Remove barriers to entry by expanding and broadening the pool of diverse candidates.
- Establish stronger community connections.
- Establish infrastructure academies and training programs.
As of June 2021, the initiative has 100-percent participation, and member companies, on average, are implementing five actions to meet their DEI commitment.

EEI's Business Diversity Program
For more than four decades, EEI's Business Diversity Program (formerly Supplier Diversity) has created opportunities for diverse businesses to take part in the growth of the electric power industry.
