When a light goes on in Ontario, chances are good the electricity making the bulb glow travelled across the wires and towers operated by Hydro One Networks Inc. Ensuring that electricity makes its journey safely and reliably are the more than 4,000 men and women of Hydro One Networks. Our transformer and station maintenance teams, power line maintainers, forestry crews, meter readers and all the other people working behind the scenes take great pride in their contribution to helping Ontario succeed.
Hydro One Networks is responsible for 97 percent of Ontario's electricity transmission system and about one-third of the province's distribution system. Hydro One delivers electricity safely, reliably and responsibly to homes and businesses across the province of Ontario. It owns and operates Ontario's 29,000 kilometer high-voltage transmission network that delivers electricity to large industrial customers and municipal utilities. Hydro One's 122,000 kilometer low-voltage distribution system serves about 1.3 million end-use customers and smaller municipal utilities in the province.
