2011 June Retail Energy Services Executive Advisory Committee Meeting

Our Retail Energy Services Executive Advisory Committee meeting immediately follows the EEI Annual Convention in Colorado Springs, CO, June 12-15, 2011. (If needed, complimentary transportation will be provided from Colorado Springs to the Denver Airport Crown Plaza)

Join a multidisciplinary group of EEI member company executives to participate in discussions and develop action oriented plans on the various federal and state public policy issues surrounding the transformation of the electric utility industry and their impacts on customers.

Possible Agenda Items Include:

  • EEI 2011 Corporate Goals for Retail Energy Services:  What are the goals and what are the action plans for achieving the goals?  Areas include: smart grid, energy efficiency, demand response, electric transportation and outreach to regulators.
  • New EEI campaigns on the value of electricity, smart grid, electric transportation and LIHEAP.
  • Critical Customer Issue Forums:  Results from recent regional meetings following the theme “Education, collaboration and inclusion among industry, regulators and consumer advocates on those issues related to smart grid acceptance and deployment.”
  • Alternative Regulation:  EEI activities to promote regulatory policies that adapt to changing markets
  • Federal Legislation—Outlook for 2011:  What energy oriented legislation is moving through congress this year and how would it affect utility customers?
  • National Association for Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC):  What resolutions were passed during the winter meeting and how do they relate to member company and EEI goals and objectives?  What can we expect from the upcoming NARUC summer meeting and the annual convention?
  • EEI CEO Electric Transportation Task Force: What directions are we getting from the CEOs now that vehicles are becoming available and gasoline prices are increasing.
  • CEO Department of Defense Energy Security Task Force:  Results from the March CEO meeting and next steps.
