EEI Releases 2008 Profiles & Rankings of Shareholder-Owned Electric Companies

The Profiles and Rankings of Shareholder-Owned Electric Companies was created in 2003 and merged data and information traditionally found in EEI's Catalogue of Shareholder-Owned Electric Utilities with an expanded version of the company-to-company financial and operating statistical rankings formerly provided in EEI's Rankings of Shareholder-Owned Electric Utilities.

The publication is divided into two distinct sections.  Section I contains snapshots of shareholder-owned electric holding companies including a description and electric service territory map of each company as well as the latest financial and operational data highlights.  Also included in Section I is a listing of all shareholder-owned operating companies which includes a breakdown of state level information on retail customers, megawatthours (MWh) delivered and retail revenues for each shareholder-owned operating company.  In addition, Section I contains updated information on mergers and acquisitions including the recently completed merger between Aquila, Black Hills Corporation and Great Plains Energy.

Section II provides over 20 individual rankings tables of shareholder-owned electric holding and operating companies including a ranking of electric peak demand by operating company which is new to the publication in 2008.
