On January 17, EEI launched a new smart grid Web site, SmartGrid.eei.org, featuring both an interactive public site and an exclusive smart grid communications toolkit for EEI members.

The site explains what the smart grid is, how it works, and why grid modernization is beneficial for electric companies and their customers. Customer video testimonials show how the smart grid already is making a difference to customers across the country. The site also features simple tools to help customers better manage their electricity costs.

EEI members can log in to the members-only section of the site to find a toolkit designed to complement their smart grid communications plans and to help companies communicate the benefits of the smart grid to their customers.
