WASHINGTON (February 27, 2023) — The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) today announced that industry veteran Phil Dion has been named senior vice president of customer solutions. Dion comes to EEI from American Electric Power, where he held several leadership roles since joining the company in 2015. He will replace Lisa Wood, who is retiring from EEI on March 31 as vice president of customer solutions and vice president of the Edison Foundation. He will report to Brian Wolff, chief strategy officer and executive vice president of public policy and external affairs.
“I am pleased to announce that Phil Dion will be joining our team and will be bringing his extensive industry experience to EEI,” said EEI President Tom Kuhn. “Phil has a strong track record of working across the industry and with policymakers, regulators, corporate customers, and other stakeholders to develop strategies and identify solutions that meet the changing needs of customers. We are excited to have him onboard,” Kuhn added.
“I am also tremendously thankful to Lisa Wood for her dedicated years of service to EEI and to the Edison Foundation and its Institute for Electric Innovation,” said Kuhn. “Lisa worked closely with our member companies and helped to advance key initiatives for residential, corporate, and military customers including a recent initiative to better serve low- to moderate-income customers. I congratulate her on her retirement.”
At AEP, Phil served as vice president of technology business development, vice president of customer policy solutions and insights, vice president and interim chief customer officer, and vice president of federal affairs. Prior to AEP, he was senior vice president of public policy and customer solutions for UNS Energy Corp. and was the chief of staff to former Federal Energy Regulatory Commission commissioner Marc Spitzer. Dion has a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Arizona and a juris doctorate and master’s degree in finance from Santa Clara University.
