PNM Surprises Its Biggest “Little” Fan
PNM’s biggest “little” fan and his fellow Cub Scouts received an exciting surprise from PNM employees earlier this month.
Fifth-grader Callan can regularly be seen wearing his homemade PNM shirt and hard hat during Cub Scout activities. When he’s not doing Cub Scouts activities, he’s often playing in his mock PNM crew site in his backyard or talking about all things PNM.
To his delight, a group of PNM employees, which had heard about their biggest fan, arrived at the Cub Scouts Pack 12 annual family picnic at Paradise Hills Park in New Mexico.
“Callan loves our industry, which is really exciting for all of us at PNM, but most of all, he has a great spirit of caring. He is a sharp young man who lets his passions shine,” said Pat Vincent-Collawn, chairman, president and CEO of PNM Resources.
PNM Craft Supervisor Darin Davis, a former Eagle Scout, provided an important lesson in electrical safety for the Cub Scouts, and highlighted Callan and his passion for PNM and his focus on safety.
For his dedication and love of learning, Callan was recognized with the first-ever PNM Honorary Youth Ambassador award and received a plaque, a basket of official PNM swag, and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) books and kits to help him learn about electric circuits and renewable energy.
PNM didn’t stop there – the company also made a $1,000 donation to Cub Scouts Pack 12. Cub Scouts is a nationwide program that promotes character development and physical fitness for boys and girls.
Every day, EEI’s member companies – like PNM – lead by example and strive to be role models in the communities they are proud to serve.
